Overview

This qualification is supported by the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) and develops Learners’ basic awareness of health and safety in a construction environment. It includes knowing the risks of working within a construction environment and the principles of risk assessment for improving health and safety at work, the importance of safe manual handling, the importance of working safely at height and the importance of working around equipment safely.

How do I complete the Level 1 Health and Safety in a Construction Environment?

Classroom: Classroom taught course delivered in 1 day at our training venue based in South Wales.  Alternatively where 6+ places are booked, we would consider delivering the course at your venue.

Course cost : £90 +vat

Entry Requirements: The course requires learners to be able to read, write and understand English.  Learners must be aged 14+ and provide suitable photographic ID during the course.

Level 1 Health and Safety in a Construction Environment - Course Objectives:

In completing this course, learners will be able to:

• Know the principles of risk assessment for maintaining and improving health and safety at work.
• Know the importance of safe manual handling in the workplace.
•Know the importance of working safely at height in the workplace.
•Know risks to health within a construction environment.
•Know the importance of working around plant and equipment safely.

Further Progression

Learners could progress onto one of our Level 2 Construction NVQ Diplomas in their chosen occupational area in order to obtain the blue cscs skilled worker card.  They would need to demonstrate experience and competence in their chosen occupational area.
