About the Course

The Site Supervision Safety Training Scheme Refresher (SSSTS-R) is a 1 day course that ensures your SSSTS qualification remains valid.  The course will refresh current supervisors knowledge of health and safety, welfare and environmental issues in a construction environment.  

It will also act as a reminder to supervisors of the relevant information regarding the Health and Safety responsibilities they have in relation to their role.

Overview

The SSSTS-R course refreshes learners on the legal responsibilities and the need to promote health and safety to supervise effectively.

At the end of the course learners will have an understanding of:

• health and safety law and how it applies to supervisors
• your supervisory responsibilities in controlling site safely
• risk assessments and the need for method statements
• effective site inductions, toolbox talks and method statement briefings
• monitoring site activities effectively
• timely intervention when bad practice is identified

Certification for this course is valid for 5 years. To remain certified in this area, you will need to take a refresher course before the expiry date on your certificate, otherwise the full course will need to be retaken.

The SSSTS-R course is completed in 1 day (Weekend courses are available)

How will I be assessed?

In order to successfully complete the course you will need to take part in the sessions involved and pass a multiple choice and written paper.
