The aim of the NVQ Level 6 in Occupational Health and Safety qualification is to recognise the skills, knowledge and understanding, as well as being able to demonstrate competence in the workplace when carrying out Health and Safety Management within an organisation.
The NVQ Level 6 in Occupational Health and Safety qualification is aimed at candidates who are employed in a Health and Safety Management role. It is aimed at those who are responsible for developing and applying health and safety procedures on a day to day basis and has been developed for completion in a real workplace environment. On completion of the NVQ, you will be able to apply for a black ‘managers’ cscs card or apply for GradIOSH Membership.
There are no formal entry requirements, the qualification will assess a learner’s competence in their current job role, therefore learners must be employed in a role whereby they have Health and Safety management responsibilities. Learners must be aged 16+ and be working in a role that will allow them to demonstrate their competence against the required units.
Learners will be assessed using a range of methods tailored to the learners needs. These vary from on-site assessments, observations, written questions, evidence generated from the workplace, professional discussions, and witness testimonies.
Evidence is gathered by means of; videos, photographs, on-site assessments, observations, written questions, workplace documents, professional discussions and witness testimonies. Your assessor will support you throughout the process. Evidence is uploaded and assessed via an E Portfolio whereby you can track your progress throughout.
