The Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) is a 5 day course deemed the minimum requirement for site managers to hold. The course provides the learners with all the skills they need to effectively manage the safety aspects of a construction site.

This course is suitable for; site managers, construction directors, project directors, quantity surveyors, site agents and anyone who is responsible for planning, organising, controlling and monitoring a construction workforce.
Course Content:
During the 5 days learners will cover the following:
- The Health and Safety at Work Act
- Construction Design and Management (CDM) Regulations 2015
- Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS)
- Recent changes in accepted working practices
- Behavioural safety
- Management of occupational health
- Electricity
- Excavations
- Working at Height
- Scaffolding
- Demolition
- Confined Space
Certification for this course is valid for 5 years. To remain certified in this area, you will need to take a refresher course before the expiry date on your certificate, otherwise the full course will need to be retaken.

How will I be assessed?
In order to successfully complete the course you will need to take part in the sessions involved and pass a multiple choice and written paper.
